Tom Sponsel

CPA/ABV, CFF, Managing Partner

Tom grew up in Indianapolis, and has been practicing in public accounting for more than 39 years. As Managing Partner, he has a great deal of experience in serving family-owned and closely held businesses, as well as not-for-profit organizations. This includes providing advisory services on succession planning, organizational structure, strategic planning and consulting on various phases of entrepreneurial growth and corporate governance and planning for not-for profits.

Tom has earned the ABV designation establishing him as "Accredited in Business Valuation," demonstrating his expertise in business valuation and related matters. He is also Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) and frequently provides expert testimony in legal proceedings.

Tom is committed to an active leadership role in both his profession and community, and has served on numerous not-for-profit boards of directors and as president of several civic organizations. Tom has held a number of leadership positions for the Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS) including its Political Action Committee. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and served as the chairman of the Business Valuation National Conference in 1999.

In 1993, Tom was awarded the INCPAS President's Award for his distinguished service to the Society. Tom was also the recipient of the 2004 INCPAS Outstanding CPA in Public Practice award.

Tom is very active in the community. He has served on the board of trustees for the Catholic Community Foundation, currently sits on its Planned Giving Committee and also served on the Audit Committee of St. Vincent Health. He has mentored high school students at Arsenal Tech High School. He has served in a number of committee leadership roles for the Perry Township Schools, and currently co-chairs the Perry Township Education Foundation’s Capital Campaign.  He also serves on the Audit Committee of the Finance Council of Archdiocese of Indianapolis.
