Jason Thompson

Jason is one of Sponsel CPA Group’s founding partners and serves as the Director of Valuation and Litigation Services. He specializes in Valuation, Forensic and Litigation services. Jason routinely assists clients and their advisors in determining the value of a privately held business, a partial ownership interest in a privately held business or specific assets and liabilities owned by the business. He also performs forensic accounting investigations and fraud examinations designed to assist in reconciling reported financial information to the actual underlying transactions.

Jason serves as an expert witness in a variety of financial, accounting and tax related litigation. Jason has been engaged to serve as an expert witness in matters involving business valuation, economic damages to both companies and individuals, including lost profits/lost business value and lost income, fraud and forensic accounting investigations.

Outside the courtroom, Jason provides strategic counsel to business owners and business advisors in the manufacturing and distribution, construction, professional services and retail industries. He is a certified public accountant (CPA), member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS). Jason has an Accreditation in Business Valuation (ABV) from the AICPA and is also an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). Jason is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and is Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) by the AICPA.

Jason volunteers his time as a board member for Noble of Indiana, a not-for-profit organization serving people with disabilities and their families.
