The Sponsel CPA Group team was pleased to learn from United Way that the firm had won a tailgate party and tickets to the Jan. 2 Colts/Titans game at Lucas Oil Stadium. Before the game, Managing Partner Tom Sponsel went down to the field to receive recognition on the firm’s behalf.
The award is offered by the Colts to recognize outstanding first- and second-year United Way campaigns. In both years, the firm had 100% participation and a 28% increase in 2010 campaign pledges.
This past August, Sponsel CPA Group participated in the annual United Way Day of Caring by donating a full work day to helping improve the community. Their efforts focused on the near east side around the Moon Block Building at 10th and Rural Streets.
Employees worked on different projects, including weeding and cleaning out Moon Block Park. Another group worked on the “Green Roof” over what will soon be the Little Green Bean Boutique, a second-hand children’s clothing store that will open soon. A third group leveled the ground and installed pavers for a walkway at the rear entrance to the Little Green Bean Boutique. Employees also weeded and cleaned up several storefronts on the 10th street corridor. It was a fun day of “giving back” to our community.
